Anticipation * Nesting ‘pon a leafy bough * Next generation
Barbara Butler McCoy, 2012
Perched upon my second-story porch this morning, observing my morning practice, I was surprised to see a robin approach and investigate this nest, which has been there for probably a year at least and which I thought had been abandoned. After a time it departed the nest. I figured the nest had not met its standards. Maybe it wanted newer, fresher digs? To my delight that robin returned with a partner, perched among the dogwood’s branches for a bit before one of them moved on to sit in the nest for quite some time. Maybe there are or will be robin eggs? I’d love to peek, but I’ll give them their privacy. If I see any more activity, I’ll share it.
